Presenting the Bluetest Reverberation Chamber System
What is it?
A system for quickly characterizing wireless devices and small antennas
Typical measurements include:
- Radiation efficiency of small antennas
- Diversity gain of multi-antenna systems
- Maximum available capacity of mulitport antennas in MIMO systems
- Total radiated power of active terminals
- Diversity gain of active terminals
- Receiver sensitivity of active terminals
What is it Comprised of?
- Reverberation chamber with mechanical stirrers
- DUT turntable and mounting accessories
- Network Analyzer for chamber calibration and passive device characterization
- Communications tester for characterization of active devices
- Control software on PC
How Does it Work?
The reverberation chamber simulates a Rayleigh fading multipath environment using mechanical stirring techniques combined with the appropriate RF test equipement. High chamber isolation and calibrated environment creates a repeatable and accurate test platform for radiated testing. The entire test process is automated and controlled via the Bluetest system software. This technique is ideally suited for testing devices designed to perform in multipath environments.
Who Would Want it?
Anyone wishing to understand the basic parameters of wireless devices and small antennas. The system offers increased speed and convenience for measurements such as total radiated power, total isotropic sensitivity, gain, diversity gain, etc. Typical industries include, but are not limited to, wireless handset companies and wireless antenna manufacturers.
What's in it for the Test Equipment Representative?
Every system must include a network analyzer and a communications tester
What Hardware is Supported?
Network Analyzers: Agilent PNA, ENA, 8753; R&S ZVR/ZVRE/ZVRL/ZVC/ZVCE, ZVB
Communication Testers: Agilent 8960, N4010A; R&S CMU200; Anritsu 8815/8820, MT8860C
For a more complete list with details of currently supported hardware see: Bluetest Software overview
Is the System Implementation Complicated?
No. System installation and training requires less than a week onsite and is performed entirely by Bluetest and/or MI-Technologies. The network analyzer and communications tester are integrated into the system during this onsite activity. There is no need for factory integration of the test equipment.
